Hazel B. Mead, 87, entered into rest Friday, October 09, 2020. She was born in Millen, GA to the late Jesse W. and Nora R. Burke. She was a resident of Burke County. She was a member of the Midville Baptist Church, the Charlie Wall Sunday School Class, and the Georgia Hereford Women's Association. In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Mead Sr., her step mother, Bernice Burke Cox; a brother, Joseph L. Burke; a step daughter, Barbara Smoak; and a son-in-law, Jerry R. Clark.

She is survived by three daughters, Karen Clark of Waynesboro, Becky Rogers-Peck (Roger) of Grovetown, and Janice Beard (Joe) of Statesboro; a son, Tommy Mead (Valarie) of Midville; a brother, Jesse Burke (Louise) of Waynesboro; six grandchildren, Kimberly Clark-Brake (Jim), Ashley Rogers, Leslie Beard (Robert), Tommie Lynne Jones (Skyler), Emily Beard, and Blake Rogers (Kirsten); three step grandchildren, CW Walker, Jackson Walker, and Katelyn Walker; and four great grandchildren, Aubree Rogers, Charlee Riner, Leythe Riner, and Jaxson Rogers.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00pm Sunday, October 11 in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daryl Cox and Dr. Terry Quick officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Jim Reeves, Larry Hadden, Tommy Coley, Payton Sapp, Christopher Ramey, Joseph Burke, Jr., Dale Stith, and Chip Pritchard.

Remembrances may be made to Midville Baptist Church or Georgia Junior Hereford Association, 310 Magnolia Ave, Thomaston, GA 30286.
