Waynesboro, GA- Harold L. "Bo" Herrington, Sr., 86, entered into rest Sunday, March 18, 2018. He was a native of Screven County and a lifelong resident of Burke County. He was a veteran of the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He retired from WJBF Channel 6 as master control operator after 35 years. Harold was the owner of Herrington Radio Communications for 30 years and was owner/operator of Radio Shack in Waynesboro. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waynesboro and American Legion Post 120. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Gussie Herrington; a son, Hal Herrington, Jr.; a daughter, Melody Ann Herrington; and two brothers, Wilbur Herrington and Leonard "Shine" Herrington.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Myrtle Dixon Herrington; two sons, Rex Herrington and Steve Herrington; a daughter, Dianne H. Quick (Mark); four grandchildren, David Herrington, Ciara Herrington, Ashley Herrington, and Shelby Quick, and; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Wednesday, March 21 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be 11am Thursday, March 22 in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Chapel with Rev. Tom Oliver officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Garrett Herrington, Mark Dixon, Michael McKinney, Randy Smith, David Herrington, and Mark Quick. Honorary Pallbearers will be American Legion Post 120.
