Hammond Irvin Collins, Jr., 75, entered into rest Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at University Hospital. He was born in McBean to the late Mildred and Hammond Irvin Collins, Sr. He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. Irvin loved fishing, was an avid golfer, and was a member of the Applewood Golf Club. He retired from AGY Aiken. He was very devoted to his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Vera Rabun, Opal Swearingen, and Grace Saxon.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carol Collins; three sons, Randy Collins of Waynesboro, Scott Collins (Stephanie) of Waynesboro, and Chad Collins (Cindy) of Waynesboro; two daughters, Karen Mock of Bartow, and Nancy Fields (Waylon) of Trenton, SC; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two sisters, Margie Murphy of Waynesboro and June Babb of Waynesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:30pm Sunday, January 10 at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be held 3:00pm Sunday, January 10 at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Sharpe officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Piney Grove Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
