Waynesboro, GA - Gerald Wayne "Jerry" Bell, 32, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009.He was born in Augusta on June 9, 1977 to Leroy M. Bell, Jr. of Alexander and Joan F. Bell of Waynesboro.He lived in Burke County all of his life.He was a former employee of C & H Services where he worked for over 5 years and was currently employed for the Burke County Sheriff's Office as a Maintenance Mechanic.He was a former member of Civil Air Patrol and was a current member of Bethel Baptist Church in Alexander. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, family and friends.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Versie Bell, and maternal grandmother, Josie Flakes.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Ashlynn Bell of Buchanan, GA; brother, Kylie Bell (Lydia) of Alexander; sister, Lisa Flakes Griner (Stacy) of Waynesboro; paternal grandfather, Leroy M. Bell, Sr. of Guyton; maternal grandfather, John Flakes of Waynesboro; niece, Haley Griner; and nephew, Trenton Griner.

Visitation will be from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2009, at DeLoach Funeral Home, Waynesboro, with Rev. Wayne Dixon officiating.Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Donnie Royal, Manuel McWhorter, Ashley Hammett, Matt McGlohorn, Josh Quick, Jason Flakes, and James "Bubba" Black.Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Burke County Sheriff's Office.The family and all pallbearers are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m.
