Gary Dean Johnson, Sr.

April 4, 1946 — October 9, 2021

Gary Dean Johnson, Sr., 75, entered into rest Saturday, October 9, 2021. He was a native of Sandersville and a lifelong resident of Burke County. He retired from Georgia Power and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. After retirement, Gary started raising cows. He was preceded in death by his parents, Christine and William Henry Johnson, Jr.; a son, John Russell Anderson; and a sister, Sherri Cochran Cates.

He is survived by his wife, Francis Shivers Johnson; a daughter, Andrea Kelley Johnson of Vidette; a son, Gary Dean Johnson, Jr. (Carrie) of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Gary Dean Johnson III and Carlyn Elizabeth Johnson; a sister, Cindy Peneranda (Danny) of Maryland; a brother, Kenneth Johnson of Waynesboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services are private.
