Costa Rica- Benjamin Frederick "Fred" Story, passed away January 26th, 2010 in San Jose, Costa Rica. Fred was born May 9th, 1952 in Waynesboro, GA., and spent his early years there. He was the son of Marjorie McBride Story and the late Benjamin Steed Story of Waynesboro, GA. He and his family had lived in the Charleston, SC area for many years, and had lived in San Jose, Costa Rica since August, 2009.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Patricia Ortego Story; four children, Melissa Story Sanderson (Paul), of Columbia, SC, Benjamin Frederick Story, Jr. (Betsy), of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Jonathan Lucas Story, of San Jose, Costa Rica, Francesca Lucienne, of San Jose, Costa Rice; and three grandchildren, Sydney Renee Sanderson, of Columbia, SC, Benjamin Baker Story, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Sawyer Frederick Story, of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Fred is also survived by his sister, Rebecca Story Brown (Bill), of Marietta, GA.; three brothers, Samuel Gaines Story (Julie), of Waynesboro, GA., William Milledge Story (Jean), of Duluth, GA., and Charles McBride Story (Melissa), of Waynesboro, GA.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held in San Jose, Costa Rica on Thursday, January 28th, 2010. Arrangements for a memorial service in South Carolina are incomplete, but will be announced when details become available.

The family requests that memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 603, Waynesboro, GA. 30830.
