Frankie O. Blackburn, 73, entered into rest Sunday, August 7, 2022. She was a native and lifelong resident of Sardis. She was a member of Hiltonia Christian Church. She has worked in various places, Sardis Manufacturing for 11 years, Sears Catalog Store in Waynesboro for 5 years, Southern Bank for 16 years, Planters EMC for 16 years full time and 3 ½ years part time, and was a retired hairdresser. Frankie was preceded in death by her father, Frank Fordham; her parents Sara and William “Bill” Oglesby; a brother, Randy Fordham; and a sister, Jackie Hem.
She is survived by her husband, James L. Blackburn, Jr.; a son, James L. Blackburn III (Jeannie) of Sardis; a daughter, Karen B. Herndon (Wade) of Sardis; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; six brothers, Jake Oglesby, Billy Oglesby, David Fordham, Russell Fordham, Jimmy Fordham, and Joey Fordham; seven sisters, Jennie Johnson, Stella Hall, Frankie Mikell, Peggy Fordham, Paulette Carpenter, Connie Fordham, and Melody Flint; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Tuesday, August 9 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, August 10 in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Waits and Rev. Patricia McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Sardis Baptist Cemetery.
