Eugenia B. Scott entered peacefully into eternal rest on December 8, 2015, at her beloved Spread Oak Farm.
Eugenia was the daughter of the late Robert and Lucille Braswell.She was born and raised in Waynesboro where she attended school.On August 23, 1953, she and Hugh Scott began their married life in Athens, Ga, where she worked while he attended veterinary school.She would continue that working role as the office manager of the Burke County Veterinary Animal Hospital.She was also employed later as a medical records clerk at Burke County Hospital.She was a member of Botsford Baptist Church. Eugenia was on the sidelines and bleachers of many sporting events of her daughters, grandchildren, and many more.She was always an avid and vocal fan.Momma and Little Nannie – we love you dearly.
Eugenia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years Dr. Hugh M. Scott on November 17, 2015.She is survived by her daughters, Gail S. Rockwell and husband Rocky of Waynesboro, Melissa A. Scott and her menagerie of animals, Georgia S. Hedlund and husband Jason of California; her grandchildren, Rev. Reuben L. Rockwell and wife Erin of Mobile, Hugh S. Rockwell of Carrollton, Stephen W.Rockwell of Decatur, Miranda Hedlund of California, Keaghan Hedlund of Hawaii, Keleigh Hedlund, Merrick Hedlund, Koulter Hedlund, Kiernan Hedlund all of California; two great grandchildren, Amelia Jane Rockwell and Henry Allan Rockwell.She is also survived by her sister Betty Whitaker and husband Richard of North Augusta, and brothers Bobby Braswell and wife Joyce, Johnny Braswell and wife Cherry all from Waynesboro and Tommy Braswell and wife Joan of Harlem. The extended family includes numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 12 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 11:30 am Saturday, December 12 in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Wayne Dixon and the Reverend Reuben Luckie Rockwell officiating.
Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Gardens.
Active Pallbearers will be Hugh S. Rockwell, Stephen W. Rockwell, Rodney Braswell, Jeff Braswell, Hal Braswell, and Jay Glisson.
Remembrances may be made to the St. Jude's Children Hospital or Edmund Burke Academy.
