Waynesboro, GA - Emily J. Green, 69, entered into rest on her 52nd wedding anniversary, Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Burke Medical Center.She was born on November 29, 1939 in Savannah, Georgia to the late Elijah Johnson and Mamie Mock Johnson.She had lived in this area since the late 1970's.She was so blessed to have served as a foster parent for 12 years.She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Alexander, Georgia.

She is survived by her husband, Aubrey L. Green, Sr. of Waynesboro; two sons, Aubrey Lee Green, Jr. (Sabra) of Savannah and Robert Joseph Green, Sr. (Elaine) of Waynesboro; three sisters, Gladys Ann Seigler, Barbara M. Burke, and Mary Gail Prescott, all of Guyton; three brothers, Homer Ray Johnson of Bloomingdale, James L. Johnson and Van Michael Johnson, both of Guyton; four grandchildren, Robert J. Green, Jessica S. Green, Candice Cintron, and Adam Lee Green; four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, at DeLoach Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Bethel Baptist Church, Alexander, with Rev. Matt Shryock and Rev. Keith Jordan officiating.Pallbearers will be the deacons of Bethel Baptist Church.Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 384 Joyner-Oglesby Rd, Sardis, GA30456.
