Elizabeth Holland Rogers, 91, entered into rest Saturday, October 12, 2019. She was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County. She was a member of the Waynesboro First United Methodist Church, the Lillian Powell Sunday School, and the Sunshine Circle. Elizabeth retired from the Richmond County Board of Education. After retirement, she was a preschool teacher's aide at Waynesboro First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Rogers, who was a former manager of Piggly Wiggly; and a granddaughter, Claire Rogers.
She is survived by four children, Linda Rogers Daniel (Ted) of Waynesboro, Patricia Rogers Meek of Kennesaw, GA, Marshall Rogers (Debbie) of Aiken, SC, and Randall Rogers (Christy) of Suwanee, GA; seven grandchildren, Rob Daniel (Jennifer), Brian Daniel (Stephanie), Steven Meek (Sarah), David Meek, Jennifer Watkins (Bobby), Mark Rogers (Sarah), and Collin Rogers; and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 4pm Thursday, October 17 at the Waynesboro First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Cason and Rev. Isaac Salgado officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Rob Daniel, Brian Daniel, Steven Meek, Mark Rogers, Collin Rogers, and Tommy Quick. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
