Waynesboro – Mrs. Elfie Cox, 88, entered into rest on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at the Brentwood Nursing Home.
Mrs. Elfie was born May 2, 1930 in Lucinico, Italy to the late Frank and Maria Bregant. She moved to Burke County in 1991 from West Virginia, and quickly became known for her flower garden.She was Baptist by faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Elfie was preceded in death by a son, Kip Cox; and a grandson, Justin Cockerham.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Cockerham (Gene) of Waynesboro; a son, Kim Cox (Rita) of Valley City, OH; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service honoring Mrs. Elfie's life will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Waynesboro, with the Reverend Dr. G. Al Wright, Jr. officiating. The Family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
