Edith M Cleek

Edith M. Cleek, 91, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. She was born in Cook County, TX, on May 1, 1933, to the late Herbert and Ollie Faye Blanks. Edith served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. She retired after 30+ years of civil service, working as a security analyst at Fort Gordon, GA. Edith enjoyed doing needlepoint, sewing, and gardening. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was of the Presbyterian faith. In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Cleek; sister, Jean Mauldin; and brother, Chuck Blanks.

She is survived by her daughters, Christene Peek (John) of Waynesboro, Cathlene Carpenter of Hephzibah; grandson, William Peek (John Lynch) of Chicago, IL; granddaughters, Amanda Cobb (Garrett) of Richmond Hill, GA, Stevie Carpenter Lowe of Martinez, Heather Carpenter (Andrew Hurlburt) of Mineral, VA; great-grandson, Aiden Lowe of Martinez.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 29, 2024, in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta, GA, with the Reverend Tim Pendrey officiating.

Memorial Contributions in Edith’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
