Waynesboro, GA - Eben Carl Clarke, Sr., 90, passed from Parkinson's Disease on Sunday, November 6, 2011, at his son's residence.Mr. Clarke was retired from Southeastern Equipment Company where he worked for 24 years as a mechanic.He served in World War II as an engineer.He was married to the late Dorothy Corley Clarke for 35 years.He is preceded in death by a son, Mark Clarke; sisters, Gladys Clarke, Louise Anderson, Ruby Beck, Mary Lizzie Bates; and brothers, J. B. Clarke and Milton Clarke.
He is survived by his son, Carl Clarke ,of Waynesboro; two brothers, Hammond Clarke, of Hephzibah, and Graham Clarke, of Augusta; one sister, Helen Kennedy, of North Augusta, SC.; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 8, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at DeLoach-McKerley Funeral Home.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, at Waynesboro Church of God.Interment will follow at Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery, Winter Road.Pallbearers will be Trey Clarke, Ronnie Miller, Harold Redd, Miller Hillis, Hank Clarke, and Leck Montgomery.
