Eather Eugene Cheeks

April 29, 1937 — August 14, 2020

Eather Eugene Cheeks, 83, entered into rest Friday, August 14, 2020. He was born in Washington County, Georgia to the late Eather and Tina Cheeks and moved to Burke County in 1958. He retired from Yancey Brothers after 36 years of service. He was the owner operator of Cheeks Choice BBQ and Beaver Dam Farms. Eugene was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved his family, animals, and farm.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, John Thomas Cheeks and Maggie Cheeks Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucile Cheeks; two sons, Kenneth Cheeks (Lisa) of North Augusta, SC and Dennis Cheeks (Lisa) of Augusta, GA; a grandson, Ben Cheeks of Aiken, SC; a granddaughter, Dr. Kadie Cheeks of North Augusta, SC; a brother, Hubert Cheeks of Bartow, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the Burke Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Remembrances may be made to the Rosemont Baptist Church Vision Fund.
