Dorothy Cody Jones
March 22, 1932 — June 25, 2017
Hephzibah-Dorothy Cody Jones (Dorthea) 85, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at University Hospital. Mrs. Jones was born in Greens Creek, North Carolina, and lived the majority of her life in Richmond County, Georgia. Mrs. Jones was an artist, and she especially enjoyed painting portraits. In addition, she enjoyed cooking and gardening, and she especially loved her great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jones was a member of Story Mill Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Ravonna Jones Cibak (Malcolm) of Augusta; her son, Derek Paul Jones (Teresa) of Tignall; her grandchildren, Alaina Morgan Lloyd (Russell), Andrew Ramey Cato IV, and Curtis Paul Cato; her brother, Neal Edward Cody (Kay); her sisters; Betty Joe Matthis, Gail Cody Poland, and Cherry Cody Blaylock (Gerald); and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Deloach-McKerley-Prescott Home.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 in the Deloach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Earl Saxon officiating.
