Augusta, GA- Mrs. Doris Quick Lairsey, 74, resident of St. John Towers in Augusta, GA, formerly of Waynesboro, entered into rest February 12, 2014. She was a daughter of the late Twid W. and Willie Mae Quick. She was a ward clerk for Burke Medical Center for 44 years. After retirement, she lived at St. John Towers. Doris enjoyed reading her Bible and spending time with family and friends, especially her "babies", Sissy and Bubba. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee Lairsey; a daughter, Sheila Kay Harvey; and 4 brothers, Harold, Charles, Byne, and Wayne Quick.

She is survived by daughter, Sandra H. White, "son" Michael E. White, Sr.; granddaughter, Rebecca M. White; grandson, Michael E. White, Jr. and his fiance, Abigail Peed; her special friends, Nell J. Mobley, and Kitty Thomas; a brother, Twid Quick, Jr. (Joyce); 5 sisters, Mary Brown, Debra Sasser, Jane Neely, Audrey Hunt, and Sandra Minick (Johnny); her special "husband in law", Steve Hunt, Sr.; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6-8pm Saturday, February 15 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be 2pm Sunday, February 16 at the funeral home. Rev. Wes Lawson will officiate assisted by Rebecca White and Steve Hunt, Sr. A private interment will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Steve Hunt, Jr., Mark Shelby, Edward Thomas, Mike Sasser, Randy Sasser, and Casey Sasser. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Bleakley Chandler, Mr. Jeral Williford, Mrs. Martha Chambers, and past and present physicians and employees of Burke Medical Center.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the University Health Care Foundation Dr. Bleakley Chandler Endowment Fund, to benefit patients with congestive heart failure, 2100 Central Ave. Suite 1D, Augusta, GA 30904, or St. John Towers 724 Greene St., Augusta, GA 30901.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff and residents of St. John Towers who have become family as well as to the physicians and staff of Select Specialty Hospital of Augusta.
