Doris T. Anderson

November 11, 1946 — May 14, 2018

Doris T. Anderson, 71, entered into rest Monday, May 14, 2018, surrounded by her children. She was born November 11, 1946 to the late Welzie and Pauline Bradley Tipton. She was a native of Tennessee and moved to Waynesboro 1966. Throughout the years, Doris enjoyed working several different jobs, such as The Bank of Waynesboro, Ruby L. Davis Insurance Agency, Thompson and Story Insurance Agency, The Federal Land Bank, Burke Medical Center, and most recently, retiring after 18+ years of service with the State of Georgia at Ogeechee Behavioral Health Services. After retirement, she volunteered as a Pink Lady at Burke Medical Center.

In her earlier years, she was involved in various civic groups and clubs within the community. Doris was a member of Botsford Baptist Church, where she enjoyed all activities with her Sunday School Class. She loved bird watching, with a fondness for hummingbirds. She enjoyed gardening and had a passion for reading, sometimes reading 2 books at one time. She was always willing to give back, such as donating blood on a regular basis. Spending time with her friends and family were important but most importantly were the times spent with her "beloved" granddaughters. Doris was known for her contagious smile, kind heart, and hearty laugh but she was probably most notably known for her "unique" hair style.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, two sisters, Jimmy Lou Feekes and Lorraine P. Bolus

She is survived by two daughters, L. Nicole DeLaigle and Leslie D. Northcutt (Mark) both of Waynesboro; a son, Justin D. DeLaigle of Waynesboro; two granddaughters, Lauren and Aubrey Northcutt both of Waynesboro; two sisters, Virginia P. Clark and Linda K. Tipton both of TN; four brothers, Jack "Pete" Payne, John Tipton, Darrell Tipton (Betty) all of TN, and Vaughn Tipton (Teresa) of VA; several nieces and nephews; and her dearest friends, "The Golden Girls", Mrs. Alice Sue Redd, Mrs. Myrtle Herrington, and Mrs. Kathleen Peterson.

Memorial Services will be 11am Thursday, May 17 at Botsford Baptist Church with Bill Lively and Rev. Mike Dann officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family would like to thank the staff at Augusta Oncology and Heartland Hospice for the excellent care during the last year.

Flowers are welcomed or remembrances may be made to Botsford Baptist Church or Heartland Hospice.
