Donnie Sikes, 74, entered into rest Sunday, October 30, 2022. He was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He worked as a machine mechanic with Burke Manufacturing for many years. Donnie loved to fish and to race cars. He enjoyed going to the mountains with family and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sally and James Arthur Sikes; two brothers, James A. Sikes, Jr. and John Mack Sikes; and four sisters, Geneva Robinson, Dorothy Vickery, Catherine Pate, and Sandra Sikes.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Teresa Sikes; two sons, Mitchell Sikes of Millen and Ronnie Jenkins (Angie) of Girard; a daughter, Mary Ann Dixon (Danuial) of Girard; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a sister, Dianne Nunnally (Ron Williams) of Waynesboro; two brothers, Billy Sikes of Waynesboro and David Sikes (Debbie) on Madison, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 3:00pm Wednesday, November 2 at the funeral home with funeral services following at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Tyler Sikes, Dylan Sikes, Brian Nunnally, Ethan Dixon, Rusty Pate, and Travis Nunnally.
