Donna Kay Flakes Kirkland

Donna Kay Flakes Kirkland, 65, entered into rest Friday, April 11, 2025. She was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County. She worked at Burke County High School as a paraprofessional for the special ed classes. Kay retired from the US postal service after 32 years. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeanette and Palmer Flakes.

She is survived by her husband, Sebron M. Kirkland; two stepchildren, Brandy K. Forney of Statesboro and Sebron M. Kirkland II of Seguin, TX; and three step-grandchildren, Caroline Kirkland, Ava Kirkland, and Kennedi Kirkland.

Memorial Services will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, April 15 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike Andrews and Greg Coursey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Remembrances may be made to the Burke County Animal Shelter.
