Donald M. Wilson, Sr.

Donald M. Wilson, Sr., 73, entered into rest Tuesday, March 12, 2024. He was born in Millen and has been a longtime resident of Burke County. He was a veteran of the US Marines. He was a member of Botsford Baptist Church and was a retired construction worker. He was preceded in death by his parents Annie and Franklin Wilson; and two sisters, Faye Horton and Joan Dixon. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sherry D. Wilson; two children, Donald “DJ” Wilson, Jr. and Casey Wilson both of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren, Christopher Wilson, Michael Wilson, Dylan Laws, Ashton Barefield, Brittany Wilson, Brooklyn Barefield, and Hannah Wilson; three sisters, Lisa Thomas, Linda Ryle, and Kitty Quick; a brother, Nick DeLaigle; niece, Michele Thames; a special friend, John Barefield; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held 4:00pm Monday, March 18 at the funeral home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
