Donald Lawrence Pelfrey

June 4, 1945 — February 22, 2016

Waynesboro, GA- Mr. Donald Lawrence Pelfrey, 70, was called home by the Lord on Monday, February 22, 2016, peacefully at his residence. He was born in Chester, Pennsylvania. He was a son of the late Jeptha and Nannie Pelfrey. Donald has lived in Burke County for over 30 years. He attended the Waynesboro Church of God, was a member of the Sheet Metal Local 399 where served as an apprentice instructor, and was retired from the Savannah River Site. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgann Pelfrey, and his siblings, Boyd, Dewey, Marie and Ray.

He is survived by two children, Donny Pelfrey (Jaye) of Millen and Roxanne Pelfrey Rowe (Troy) of Waynesboro; 5 grandchildren, Amanda Bennett of Seattle, Washington, Travis Downs of Waynesboro, Dallas Ann Jackson of Waynesboro, Melissa Woods (Stacy) of Harlem, GA, and Stephanie Rowe of Waynesboro; nine great grandchildren, Tocoda Pelfrey, Marley Grubaugh, Medley Grubaugh, Brooklynn Woods, Emily Woods, Matthew Woods, Bishop Slaughter, Bianca Slaughter, and Danielle Slaughter; one brother, Kenneth Pelfrey of Pennsylvania and three sisters, Linda Pelfrey, Bettie Pelfrey and Shirley Pelfrey all of Pennsylvania.

To honor his wishes, no services will be held.
