Dianna Gainer Jones

August 25, 1936 — September 20, 2022

Dianna Gainer Jones, born on August 25, 1936, in Waynesboro, GA to the late Walter and Edith Gainer, went into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.

Dianna was the sixth of nine children and was educated in the Burke County school system. She was the valedictorian of her class of twelve. She attended the Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, Alabama and later moved to New York City where she was employed as a medical transcriber for several years.

Dianna was married to the late James Samuel Jones and their union produced four children: Reginald, Hilton, Scott, and twin sister Tamika (deceased). Eventually, the family settled in Willingboro, NJ.  There she heard and accepted the Good News and has never looked back.

After Sammy's death, she returned to Burke County with the hope of doing missionary work, which she did. She was also dedicated to visiting all of the county schools, praying with and for all who desired it, as well as being involved with the nursing home ministry.

She leaves to cherish her memory three sons: Reggie (Mary), Hilton (Donna), and Scott; three brothers: Cicero (Helen), Frank (Alice) and Marvin; three sisters: Dorothy, Rose, and Mary; and a host of extended family and friends.

"...well done, good and faithful servant.....enter into the joy of your Lord. (Matthew 25:21)

The homegoing celebration in her memory will be held at 10am on Saturday, October 22 at Waynesboro Church of God, which is located at 427 GA-56 in Waynesboro.
