David "Eric" Calvert

David “Eric” Calvert, 61, entered into rest Tuesday, February 6, 2024. He was born in Sylvania and has been a longtime resident of Burke County. He was a member of Botsford Baptist Church. Eric was a retired mechanic, loved car racing and restoring cars. He enjoyed cooking, going to car shows, concerts, and having a good time. He was witty and all that knew him loved him. Eric was preceded in death by his father, O.D. “Red” Calvert; his stepfather, Allen DeLaigle; and brother-in-law, Steve Roe

He is survived by his mother, Caroline DeLaigle of Waynesboro; five siblings, Tamara C. Hodges (Troy) of Rock Springs, TX, Penny DeLaigle of Waynesboro, Kelly C. Roe of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Alana C. Dickey (Mike) of Waynesboro, and Allen DeLaigle, Jr., (Liz) of Waynesboro; and a nephew, numerous nieces and cousins.
