Daisy Deal Riggs Edenfield "Miss Daisy", 87, entered into rest Thursday, December 28, 2017. She was a native of Bulloch County and was a daughter of the late Josh Deal and Sudie Connor Deal. She lived in Waynesboro for the majority of her life and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Alexander. Miss Daisy loved flowers, pretty sunsets, watching the moon, and listening to gospel music and was a loyal Atlanta Braves fan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, James Riggs; her husband of 35 years, Joe Edenfield; grandson, Jason Riggs; son, Tommy Edenfield; son-in-law, Bobby Jenkins; two brothers; and four sisters.
She is survived by her children, Sherrie Barefield (Johnny), Joyce Johnson (Ernie), Polly Lively (Tim), J.R. Riggs (Chari), and Jimmy Riggs (Margie) all of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Jamie Braswell (Eric), John Barefield (Casey) Calvin Johnson, Rob Johnson, Brent Lively (Diann) all of Waynesboro, Jennifer Lively of Charleston, SC, Chris Riggs (Selina), Josh Riggs (April), Chad Riggs (Amy), Alysia Flakes (Gary), and Auston Riggs (Caroline) all of Waynesboro.
In addition, she is survived by Joe's children, Joe Edenfield (Patty) of Martinez, Barbara Jenkins of Sardis, Robert "Shorty" Edenfield (Sue) of Waynesboro, Jackie Edenfield of Tybee Island, and daughter-in-law, Mary Lynn Edenfield of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Derek Edenfield (Allison), Phillip Edenfield (Eun), Doug Jenkins, Brad Edenfield (Morgan), and Will Edenfield; 30 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Nell Cartee (Jimmy) and Sue Tucker (Freddie) all of Statesboro; her best friend, Lottie Robinson; and her caregiver, Teresa Carver.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30pm on Saturday, December 30 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will begin at 2:30pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bruce Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, John Barefield, Calvin Johnson, Brent Lively, Josh Riggs, Auston Riggs, and Will Edenfield.
