Christopher Greey Mann was born to Alfred (Fred) Campbell Mann, Jr., and Alice Greey Mann on April 26, 1947. Surrounded by family, he passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024, at the age of 77.
Chris was a graduate of Waynesboro High School, attended Little Emory at Oxford, and received a degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia. His love for farming was only surpassed by his undeniable love for Carol Anne Gower of Thomaston, Ga. After they wed, he moved his family to Burke County to help run the family farm appropriately titled “CAZAC” for all those represented (Cam, Alice, Zibi, Alfred, and Chris) until 1979. Chris stayed in some form of the agricultural industry until he founded and eventually retired from MANN Environmental Services. Chris never lost his passion for the peace he found in the country, so he purchased his piece of heaven with his “Wheet” out on Quaker Road where they lived for nearly 20 years.
Chris was an active member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church and Wimberly House Ministries, and he was an avid DAWG fan.
As an Eagle Scout himself, he was beyond proud of his time serving as Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America of Troop 25 in Waynesboro.
Chris is survived by his son, Christopher Greey Mann, Jr. and his wife Cynthia; his daughter, Melissa Carol Mann Juchatz and her husband Brad; four grandchildren Neely Anne Mann Dawson (Drake), Elizabeth Paige Mann (Jesse Howard), Grant Trafford Juchatz, and Ryan Crawford Juchatz; great-grandson, Harrison Greey Howard; sister, Zibi Mann Davidson (Ron - deceased); sister- in- law Jeanette (brother Cam - deceased); and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church of Waynesboro, GA, at 11:30am on Tuesday, August 13th. Visitation and reception will be held in St. Michael’s Parish Hall immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Michael’s Episcopal Church or Wimberly House Ministries .
