Waynesboro, GA - Charles Tanner "Bull", 60, entered into rest Friday, October 1, 2010, at University Hospital.He was a son of the late Betty A. Blount and Verlon Ray Tanner.Having lived in Waynesboro for the past ten years, he spent most of his life in Augusta.He retired from J & J Mid-South after 32 years of service.He was a member of Botsford Baptist Church.An avid gardener and cook, Bull loved to "grow it and cook it".He played semi-pro football for the Augusta Eagles for several years.

He is survived by two sons, Jamie Tanner (Pam) of Waynesboro and C. J. Tanner of Grovetown, GA; two daughters, Tonya and Tracey, both of Augusta; two brothers, Bubba Boatwright of Waynesboro and Wayne Tanner of Clearwater, SC; four sisters, Diane Landers (Mike) of Natchez, Mississippi, Carol Kennedy (Bubba) of Belvedere, SC, Shirley Ann James, and Tammy Jones (George), both of Waynesboro; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, at the funeral home.

The funeral will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 3, at Botsford Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Dixon officiating.Interment will follow at Botsford Baptist Church Cemetery.Active and Honorary pallbearers will be members of his Sunday School Class.

Flowers are welcome; however, donations may be made to Botsford Baptist Church, 825 Botsford Church Road, Waynesboro, GA30830.
