Sardis, GA - Mr. Cecil C. "Butch" Johnston, Jr., 56, husband of Susan K. Johnston, entered into rest on Sunday, February 22, 2009. He was born June 10, 1952.
Butch Johnston was known for his extraordinary expertise in the automotive repair industry.In his flying days, he was an inspired aircraft pilot that brought joy to so many around him.He also had a passion for fishing and just being on the water with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Barbara Johnston of Augusta, GA; a daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Larry Lewis of North Augusta, SC; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Kim Johnston of Hampton, GA; and a son, Steven D. Johnston of Augusta, GA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Cathy Johnston and Mark and Leslie Johnston; a sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Bobby Maxcey, all of North Augusta, SC; five grandchildren, Amber Johnston, Jaycee and Grace Lewis, Baylie Johnston, Madeline Johnston; and also a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at DeLoach Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
Graveside Services will be conducted on Friday morning, February 27, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marks Cemetery, Sardis, with Rev. Steve Sirmons officiating.Pallbearers will be Ronnie Kendrick, Larry Lewis, David Zorn, Todd Ezernack, Newton Manly, and Johnathan Adams.
