Catherine Barton Mims

August 28, 1923 — August 27, 2013

Catherine Barton Mims, 90, formerly of Waynesboro, entered into rest Tuesday, August 27, 2013. She was born on March 1, 1923 to the late Alvin Elwood Barton and Sallie Johnson Barton. Catherine was a homemaker, who enjoyed her flowers and loved to go fishing. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was known to them as "Me-Naw". She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred H. Mims, Jr., a son, Kenneth Frank Mims, 2 sisters, and a brother.

She is survived by 2 sons, Fred H. Mims III (Donna) of Hephzibah and Barton E. Mims (Terry) of Jackson, SC; 3 grandchildren, Tammy Sabo, Cathy Beasley, and Dana Cramer; 10 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday August 29 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 4pm Friday August 30 at Hephzibah-Vance Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Sharpe will officiate.
