Carolyn Evans Hamilton, 80, entered into rest Monday, January 13, 2025. She was born in Hillsboro, NC to the late Hazel and Otha Evans and has been a longtime resident of Burke County. She was a graduate of Augusta State University. After over 35 years of teaching, Carolyn retired from the Burke County School System, where she taught 5th Grade and the Discovery Program. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Sunshine Circle, and Delta Kappa Gamma. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Hamilton; and a brother, Warren Evans.
She is survived by three children, Robert Kirk Hamilton of Texas, David Alan Hamilton of Waynesboro, and Susan Elizabeth Hamilton (John) of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Clara Evans Vanderbilt of Durham, NC and Barbara Hamilton of Aberdeen, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00am Saturday, January 18 at the First Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Cox officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Remembrances may be made to the First Methodist Church.
