Carolyn Thames Gordy, 59, entered into rest Wednesday, August 19, 2020. She was kind hearted and a hard worker. She volunteered at SGA and was awarded volunteer of the year. She enjoyed working in the yard and riding her grandchildren around on the golf cart with her husband. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Joanne Thames; and two brothers, Charles and Jackie Thames.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, James Gordy; two daughters, Lisa Gordy of Sardis and Lynn Gordy of Barnwell, SC; four grandchildren, Jeffery Stewart of Sardis, Joshua Gordy of Sardis, Nikki Sullivan of Barnwell, and Jamie Sullivan of Barnwell; two sisters, Debra Koziol of Sardis and Kathy Thames (Candy) of Waynesboro; two sisters-in-law, Ann Collins of Allendale, SC and Cynthia T. McBride of Sylvania, GA; two nieces, Beth Scott of Sylvania and Jolene Rivera of Millington, TN; and a nephew, Jay Thames of Sylvania.

Graveside Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 22 at Corinth Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Steve Sirmons.

Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital or Corinth Christian Church.
