Carolyn Mathis Bell

April 6, 1932 — July 10, 2018

Waynesboro – Carolyn Mathis Bell, 86, passed away on July 10, 2018, at Brentwood Nursing Home. She was born in Savannah, GA and resided in several locations before settling in Burke County. Carolyn was a former member and officer of the North Augusta Board of Realtors, where she won numerous awards. She was also a former officer of the North Augusta Chamber of Commerce. Carolyn enjoyed reading, watching golf, having fun, and she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her son, Aubrey "Bubba" Mathis (Lisa) of Waynesboro; two daughters, Deborah Olyowski of Augusta and Miriam Hilburn of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 20 at 7:00pm in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
