Carol Anne Gower Mann of Waynesboro, GA died April 10 th 2023, in her home.
Carol was born to Anne Crawford Gower and William Justus Gower, Jr. in Atlanta, GA on July 13, 1947. She graduated from R.E. Lee Institute in Thomaston, GA in 1965 and from the University of Georgia and Augusta College with a degree in early childhood education. She began her teaching career at Waynesboro Elementary, next Edmund Burke Academy then twenty-one years at Gracewood Elementary. While she was there, she earned her master’s and specialist degrees at Augusta College.
During her teaching years, she was a member of the Waynesboro Garden Club and two bridge clubs.
She was very active as a Sunday school teacher at St. Michaels Church, served on Altar Guild and with the Women of the Church. She helped launch Wimberly House Ministries.
Carol is survived by her husband, Christopher Greey Mann. Other survivors include her son, Christopher Greey Mann, Jr. and his wife, Cynthia; her daughter, Melissa Juchatz and her husband, Brad; four grandchildren, Neely Mann Dawson, Elizabeth Paige Mann, Grant Trafford Juchatz, and Ryan Crawford Juchatz; and one great-grandchild, Harrison Greey Howard. She is also survived by her sister, Peggy Crawford Gower and Harry Whitt; and her brother, Bill Gower and his wife, Lisa.
The service will be held at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church of Waynesboro, GA at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 13 th . Visitation and reception will be in St. Michael’s Parish Hall after the service.
