Waynesboro, GA. – Ms. Bobbie Bailey Mobley, 62, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Louisville, GA., on December 30, 1950 to the late William Jack Bailey and Lorrine Blount Bailey.She was a lifelong and faithful member of Vidette United Methodist Church where she previously served as treasurer and was a former Sunday School teacher. She worked as the County Executive Director with the USDA Farm Service Agency for over 31 years. During that time she served in Burke, Richmond, Columbia, McDuffie, Emanuel and Jenkins counties and retired in December of 2009. She enjoyed fellowship with friends, traveling, being involved with the Georgia Field Trial Association and attending grandchildren's sporting events. She was a devoted woman of faith and drew her strength from her love of Christ as well as her supportive family and friends. She loved mankind and never met a stranger.She had a way of making everyone feel special. Even though she has gone to her Heavenly home, her spirit will forever live on through the countless memories of her smile and infectious laugh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Bailey.
She is survived by a son, Bill Evans, IV (April), daughter, Barbara Ann Hammett (Ashley) both of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Bailey Evans Lowe (David), Brayden Evans, Lily Hammett, Caroline Cates, and Asher Hammett. Also surviving are a brother, Steve Bailey (Donna), sister, Connie Burgamy both of Vidette; niece, Valarie Walker; nephews, Luke Burgamy, and Jack Bailey; and many other family members.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. at Vidette United Methodist Church on Monday, September 16. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. Rev. Griffin Thompson and Rev. Dr. Emmitt Tip Carroll will officiate. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack Bailey, Luke Burgamy, Mack Bailey, Bill Bailey, Bruce Bailey, Gene Ward, Leroy Bell, and Dr. Johnny Christian.
