Billy A. Williamson

September 12, 1938 — September 29, 2020

Billy A. Williamson, 82, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at University Hospital in Augusta. He was born on September 12, 1938, to the late John and Estelle Shelton Williamson. Billy grew up in Warrenton, GA, and following his graduation from High School he moved to Macon, GA. He joined the marines in 1956 and after serving three years he returned home and attended Georgia College in Milledgeville, where he earned a bachelor's degree. After college, Billy went to work for the Department of Labor, where he had a long and successful career. After retirement, he purchased a cattle farm, which he operated for many years. He was a loving husband, father, and papa and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Walker Williamson.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Sharon Williamson; two daughters, Tonya Mason (Ben) of McDonough, GA and Terri Mobley (Chris) of Keysville; three grandsons, William Mason of McDonough, GA, Gabe Mobley, and Michael Mobley both of Keysville; sister, Mary Kuta (Tom) of Country Club Hills, IL; brother, Barry Williamson (Liza) of Coral Gables, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
