Betty Knight Stewart

July 3, 1934 — September 16, 2017

Mrs. Betty Knight Stewart 83, entered into rest Saturday, September 16, 2017, the daughter of the late Baxley and Mable Mixon Knight. Mrs. Stewart was a native of Burke County and a longtime resident of Augusta. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, lifetime member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars #649. She was a former field officer for Southern Bell and a property manager at Olde Town in Augusta.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James N. Stewart, her sister, Marie Knight and her nephew, Bennie Knight.
Surviving are, her brother, Otis B. Knight and wife Jo, her nieces, Cindy White and husband Chuck, Beth Bryan and husband Tommy, her nephew, Doc Knight and wife Brenda, her daughters, Angela Prettelt and husband Gordon and Kim Wade and husband Norton; her grandchildren, Sterling Olson, Destin Olson, Lauren Zelgewicz, Kate Zelgewicz and Matthew Zelgewicz.
Graveside Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2017 in Westover Memorial Park with the Reverend Jerry Sharpe officiating.
Active Pallbearers will be Chuck White, Tommy Bryan, Ben Knight, Doc Knight, Gordon Prettelt and Norton Wade.
The Family would like to express a special appreciation to Estella Mack and Mae Powell for the excellent care they gave Mrs. Betty.
Remembrances may be made to charity of one's choice.
