Augusta, GA - Betty King Lawrence, 74, entered into rest Monday, March 9, 2009, at University Hospital.She was born October 29, 1934 in Bolivia, NC to the late John Howard Thornton and Blanche Thornton.Ms. Lawrence was a member of West End Ministries in Augusta. She was preceded in death by her lifetime companion, Warren A. Lewis, Sr.

She is survived by two daughters, Anna E. Stoner of Augusta, GA and Patricia A. Walden (Joseph) of Girard, GA; sister, Geraldine Sandlin of Wilmington, NC and all of her family; brother, Earl Thornton of Jacksonville, FL; two granddaughters, Angel L. Speaks and her family of Girard, GA and Tina M. Medlin and her family of Star, NC; two great-grandsons; three great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at DeLoach Funeral Home, Hephzibah, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2009.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009, at the Chapel of DeLoach Funeral Home, Hephzibah.Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta. Senior Pastor Diane Alcorn and Pastor Henry Alcorn of West End Ministries, Augusta, GA, will be officiating.
