Betty Ellison Flake
January 24, 1931 — June 11, 2017
Mrs. Flake was born in Screven County and was a lifelong resident of Girard, Georgia. She was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church and was an avid seamstress, enjoyed gardening and baking.
She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Flake and her husband Jesse Flake.
Surviving are her children, Carolyn Flake Heath and husband Dale of Girard, Janice Morris and husband James of Waynesboro, Terry Bonnell and husband Danny of Waynesboro and Joey Flake and wife Tammy of Girard; her brother John B. Ellison and wife Linda of Sardis; 12 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Debra Flake; and a cherished friend, Ruth Jenkins.
Active Pallbearers will be Andrew Flake, Joshua Williams, Scotti Flake, Chad Flake, Roger Smith, Austin Miettunen and Eddie Williams.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Deloach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home.
Funeral Services 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017 in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Tom Tidwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Remembrances may be made to your Pet Rescue of choice or the Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Dale Heath.
