Bessie Clayton Robinson

Waynesboro, GA.- Mrs. Bessie Clayton Robinson, 74, entered into rest May 22, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Robinson was born April 5, 1936 in Millen, GA. She was a daughter of the late Willie and Etta Landing. She enjoyed fishing, but spending time with her family meant the world to her. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her husbands, Monnie A. Clayton, Sr., and Harold Robinson; son, David E. Clayton, Sr.; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Wolfe (wife of the late Bill Wolfe), of North Augusta, SC; four sons, Tommy Clayton (Susan), of Weston, FL, Melvin Clayton (Rita), of Waynesboro, Monnie Clayton, Jr. (Angie), of Waynesboro, and Curtis Clayton (Angie), of Sardis; daughter in law, Gerald Clayton, of Alexander; eight grandchildren, Lori Clayton Martin (Evan), Adam Clayton, Joshua Clayton, David Clayton, Jr. (Ashley), Amber Sidel (Justin), Lucy Wolfe, Matthew Clayton, and Lane Clayton; three great-grandchildren, Clayton Anderson, Grayson Sidel, and Blake Howard; three sisters, Trudie Newman, of Glennville, Walton Lee Burke, of Sylvania, and Annie Lou Dailey, of Millen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Monday, May 24, 2010 at the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Wayne Dixon officiating. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Adam Clayton, Joshua Clayton, David Clayton, Jr., Evan Martin, Bobby DeLaigle, and David Cooper, Sr.

Flowers are being accepted, however, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (1-800-272-3900) or to a charity of one's choice.
