Girard, GA - Benjamin "Ben" Buxton, Jr., 79, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. He was born on April 10, 1934 in Girard to the late Ben Buxton, Sr. and Carrie Lou Buxton. He was a faithful member of Bethany United Methodist Church. He retired from International Paper after 26 years of service. After retirement, he grew and sold produce.He enjoyed going to Liberty Square Farmers Market and automotive auctions. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Ann Coleman.

He is survived by two children, Kay Wilson (Lonnie) of Perkins and Larry Buxton of Waynesboro; 8 grandchildren, Leon Coleman, Allen Coleman, Tracy Coleman, Crystal Coleman McCall, Faith Ann Smith, Lonnie Wilson III, Heather Wilson, and Patrick Buxton; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Bonnie Buxton of NC; sister, Shirley Hill of NC; mother of his children, Mildred Buxton of Millen; two nieces, and two nephews.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Friday, March 7, at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 8, at Bethany United Methodist Church. Rev. Tom Tidwell and Rev. Jesse France will officiate. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
