Waynesboro – Barbara Claxton Eskew, 83, passed away on May 9, 2018. She was born on January 20, 1935, to the late Charley Gray Claxton and Rene Mae Sapp. She enjoyed reading books, gardening, sewing, flowers, picnics, and going to yard sales. She was a retired seamstress from the Thompson Company and Millen Sportswear. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father John H. Jackson, Sr.; brothers, John H. Jackson, Jr., Richard Jackson, Harold Jackson, Charlie Claxton; and sisters, Georgia Hill and Joannie Mae Lariscy.
She is survived by a son, Charles R. Claxton, Sr. and his wife Libby of Waynesboro; a grandson, Charles R. Claxton, Jr. of Waynesboro; a brother, Jack Jackson of Keysville; two sisters, Sarah J. Fail of Keysville and Patricia Clark of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 pm to 8 pm Friday, May 11 at the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be 12:00 pm Saturday, May 12 at Burke Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ernest Johnson officiating.
Active Pallbearers will be Chase Flakes, Brice Flakes, Jack Jackson, Jr., John Thomas Jackson, Mike Claxton, Sr., and George Fail III.
