Andy Claxton

Andy was a lifelong resident of Burke County and was a class of 1989 graduate of Burke County High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for Cain & Cain for many years and recently started a job at Plant Vogtle. Andy enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Barbara Claxton.
Survivors include his wife, Jessica Michele Claxton; three step children, Lawton Williams, Tristan Howard, and Hannah Howard; a sister, Sheila Eskew (Fred); four brothers, Jesse Chavous, Mike Claxton (Sheryl), Aaron Claxton, and Gerald Claxton; nieces and nephews, David Shaw, Jessica Eskew, Ashley Claxton, Michael Claxton, Martin Jarrett, Charlie Claxton, and Abbi Claxton; four great nieces, Madisen York, Anslee York, Ryleigh Claxton, and Kinsley Bradley; and other family members.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm, Friday, September 28, 2018 at DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, September 29, 2018 in the chapel of DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home. Rev. Bernard Martin will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens.
If desired, remembrances may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Andy.
